Seven Valuable Lessons from the Pixar Movie – Up

Share this post and help spread the love! Seven Valuable Lessons from the Pixar Movie Up written by Bren Koger. A cardio theater at a gym is a big dark room with treadmills and ellipticals lined up in front of a movie screen so you can watch a movie while the minutes tick by. It’s a great distraction for me while I run on the treadmill and really one of the only times I watch movies. I was happy to see the adorable 3D animated movie “Up” by Pixar playing yesterday. The Pixar Movie UP If you haven’t seen this movie yet, the plot (Spoiler alert) is about an elderly man named Carl who lost his wife of many years, Ellie. Backstory for “Up “Carl and Ellie had both, from a young age, idolized the explorer Charles Muntz and always had this dream of moving to Paradise Falls in South America, but they never seem to be able to make it happen. Ellie ends up dying of old age. Carl still lives in the house they shared together, but when he accidentally injures a construction worker ove

Why Should I Create A Facebook Fan Page?

Share this post and help spread the love! Why Should I Create A Facebook Fan Page? Although people often use Facebook as a social/interactive tool, as a business owner and entrepreneur, there are several reasons why you should consider a Facebook Fan Page. 1) A Facebook Fan Page is Public Because most of Facebook is hidden behind a login, it prevents search engines from indexing.  However Facebook Fan Pages are often now blocked with a login and therefore can be found by search engines and indexed (so it shows up on the search results). 2) The Page Include Links Since the Facebook Fan Page is public, you can get some nice Facebook.com link juice, or link credit.  This will help what ever you are linking to be found easier by search engines. .video-container{text-align:center;} 3) Automatically Sends Updates to Fans A great feature is that you can send updates to your fans whenever you want.  You basically create a database of followers who are actively seeking updates from you.  Y

How to Get Motivated And Push Yourself Towards the Edge

Share this post and help spread the love! How to Get Motivated And Push Yourself Towards the Edge. I have been doing a lot of listening to CDs and watching videos about how to get motivated to maximize my potential. My favorite motivational speakers include Tony Robbins and Bob Proctor.  I will often listen to them while driving in my car, or while at work. It is interesting that a lot of the motivational speakers out there, especially all the big ones, basically say the same thing. They encourage people to write down their goals and make a plan to reach those goals. They also talk about making sure that you complete the tasks that you have for the day. And the underlining theme to these motivational speakers is overcoming your fear. In the Past… Years ago I would ve considered myself highly motivated. I worked hard at my job, and I got recognized and promoted for it I also started building up my portfolio of rental properties. I even more actively invested in the stock market. It

The Power of The Spoken Word: Speak Your World Into Existence

Share this post and help spread the love! The Power of The Spoken Word: Speak your World Into existence  written by Bren Koger. I was relaxing in the sauna at my gym yesterday when I couldn’t help overhearing a conversation a couple of women were having just outside the door. It was a pretty normal conversation about plans for the weekend, etc. What got my attention and made the conversation memorable for me was in the course of a 10-minute conversation, I heard a total of three dis-empowering statements related to money. In the past, I wouldn’t have noticed, but I’ve become more aware of these kinds of statement because I now understand the power of the spoken word. The Power of the Spoken Word A few years ago I might not even have noticed these statements, but since I’ve become more aware of my own spoken (or misspoken) words, it’s obvious when others are creating their lives by default by what they are voicing out loud. Dis-empowering Words The first thing that was said
